21 Feb 2010 -   ALL NOLFs will be closed Sunday, 21 FEB 2010 !

  • The Navy will conduct full flight operations on Sunday 21 FEB. Again, any individual trying to gain or gaining entrance to any NOLF on 21 FEB will result in their whole club losing their license to fly at NASWF NOLF's for the period of one year. This is a safety issue and infractions will not be tolerated.
13-15 Feb 2010 -   Model flying will be allowed at authorized NOLF's for the three day weekend of 13-15 FEB 2010.

  • Spencer Field is closed indefinitely and is NOT available on ANY day until further notice.

07 Jan 2010 -   Please be reminded that ALL NAVY FIELDS (NOLFs) are CLOSED to model activities on 10 JAN, 17 JAN and 24 JAN.

  • All these dates are on Sunday and the Navy will be conducting flight ops on each of them.
  • Model activity is permitted on each of the Saturdays preceding the above dates.
  • Also model activity is permitted on 18 JAN - MLK Day.
  • Bronson Field is NOT considered one of the NOLFs and is therefore NOT affected by the above.
  • Bronson activities are permitted daily.
  • Spencer Field is closed indefinitely and is NOT available on ANY day until further notice.

Due to construction, Spencer is still CLOSED to all flying until further notice.
  • 24 - 27 DEC Authorized NOLFs are OPEN for model flying
  • 31 DEC - 3 JAN Authorized NOLFs are OPEN for model flying
  • Saturday 9 JAN is OK to fly
  • Sunday 10 JAN all NOLFs are CLOSED.
  • Saturday 16 JAN is OK to fly
  • Sunday 17 JAN all NOLFs are CLOSED.

25 Nov 2009 -   Several have questioned about Friday 27 Nov as a modelers fly day at NOLFs. We have not gotten any information from the Navy and when I tried to call Dr. Bair on her work phone and cell phone I was sent to voice mail. Therefore, we still don't have any information and until we can talk to her we will not have any. That being the case, we must ASSUME the NOLFs to be CLOSED to modelers on Friday. Bronson and Fritz will be available. I'll keep trying to contact them and I'll provide more word about NOLFs if we get it.

08 Oct 2009 -   Spencer Field as of today will be CLOSED to all modelers without exception until approximately 15 JAN 2010. The combination to the field will be changed and not handed out until after the construction is complete.  If the contractors accidently leave the gate open, this is not an invitation to modelers to enter the NOLF and fly their models, security will step up their patrols and many base personnel live close to the field and will be monitored.

09 Sep 2009 - Santa Rosa field will be Closed to flying on 13 SEP and 27 SEP. "Modelers will not be authorized on NOLF Santa Rosa for any reason during this period".

18 May 2009 -   Memorial Day weekend (23, 24 & 25 MAY), all NOLF's will be available for model flying. Please remember the 400 ft altitude limitation as other full scale aircraft pilots will be flying and use our airfields for low approaches, even though they are closed.

Santa Rosa field will be Closed to flying on Sunday 31 May. "Modelers will not be authorized on NOLF Santa Rosa for any reason during this period".
